It is important to note that FACE did not investigate these particular cases;
we compiled information that was already publicly available.

While FACE works to substantiate and bring to light credible allegations of abuse, we also aim to centralize previously publicized records in order to provide permanence and accessibility that will facilitate the background check process of leaders. This list entails every qualifying record we were able to find on religious or community leaders who were publicly alleged to have abused their positions of power. Whether these individuals are living among us, awaiting a pending trial, incarcerated, or have fled the country, we felt it necessary to publicize these records as a tool for communities to conduct more substantive background checks and provide information relevant to the consideration of a candidate for a leadership position.
