Summary: Syed Imam Haider Zaidi, an imam in the Toronto area, was arrested at Pearson International Airport while boarding a flight to leave Canada. He was charged with sexually assaulting a woman over a period of several years under the guise of performing a religious ceremony on her, claiming she was possessed. Zaidi also threatened the victim with physical harm and community exposure if she spoke out about what was happening. The court case is ongoing, according to a Toronto Police representative FACE spoke with on 01/12/2021. Zaidi runs a Youtube page and Facebook channel and has continued to preach widely.
