Summary: Muhammad Laftah Hasan was a religious instructor at an institution he founded called the American Islamic Center for the Holy Quran. He was arrested in December 2017 on seven counts of sexual abuse and sentenced to four years in prison in February 2019 after pleading guilty to sexually abusing two girls over a number of months, both of whom were students in his classes. He is anticipated to be released in early February 2023.
